and while you exhaust yourself playing the game
a million, more gallons will flow just the same

so it's time to admit that complicity lies

in the hearts of the activists taking (their) strides

toward a commonly held but impossible future

those wounds, they will itch, but don't pull out the suture

cause a gash makes a scar and we must wear them with pride
if we're ever to begin to recognize
the blood and the oil, from enemies, friends
all looks the same on the shore, in our lungs, in our hands

so it's time to admit that complicity lies
with those who do nothing to stem the tide
of demand for the poison inherent in comfort
